| Advanced Repository Administration with TortoiseSVN |
Tortoise SVN is a subversion client for windows that integrates with the windows explorer. You can use this tool for advanced document repository administration. TortoiseSVN is not required to use RocketDMS but is a useful administration tool to install on the administrator's system. See: http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/ Download: http://tortoisesvn.net/downloads Once installed, navigate into your briefcase using the windows explorer. The file icons will now have some overlays showing the current subversion status of the files. Right-click on files and the explorer context menu will include SVN options for the files in addition to the standard windows explorer options. NOTE: Tortoise SVN knows nothing about the RocketDMS data, metdata and document indexes. You can not maintain this data using Tortoise SVN. If you rename files or paths using Tortoise SVN all associated meta data will be lost. IMPORTANT: Renaming of documents or paths should only be done using the RocketDMS program. |
