In short, neta-data is data about data.

The data handled by RocketDMS is documents (files). The document meta-data (called Document Tags) is data about the documents.

RocketDMS lets you create any document meta-data that you need. You are not restricted to the types of meta-data supplied by us in the installation package.

Document tags might include things like description, keywords, owner, document type, department, dates etc. It is entirely up to you.
